Life Belief

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV

Stephen confessed the calling on his life in 1998. Stephen began his service with opening the church doors and setting up and breaking down the church for Sunday services. Stephen was ordained a Deacon in 2000. As a Deacon he continued serving in God’s house by being an armor bearer to the pastor, worship leader, drama, teaching and preaching.

Pastor Stephen’s hunger for the word continued to grow at Living Hope Christian Center. Stephen attended Burean University for Biblical Studies. Deacon Stephen was ordained Minister Stephen Matthews in 2004. He continued his education by attending the International Bible Institute and Seminary (IBIS) where he obtained a Diploma in Practical Theology in 2007. In 2009, Minister Stephen was elevated to Associate Pastor of the Living Hope Christian Center in Pennsauken, NJ under the tutelage of Prophet Ronald King, Sr. and Pastor Angela King. Minister Stephen currently attends Liberty University where he will receive his degree in Biblical Science.

Pastor Stephen Matthews sits on the board of the Living Hope Christian Center. He was also the head the Men’s ministry, Outreach Ministry, and Audio/Visual team. Pastor Stephen was active in the Drama Ministry by writing and performing in such plays as “Jesus Still Speaks” and “A Tale of Two Sinners”. He also lends support to the Website team. Pastor Stephen is a published author. He continues to bear the arms of his Prophet Ronald King, Sr.

Rev. Stephen Matthews and his wife Rev Evangeline Matthews founded Grace for Life Ministry in 2012. They have three daughters Victoria, Ashlee and Alexis. They know that we are saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves; it is the gift of God.

Be Encouraged

The things that sometimes disqualify you in life will qualify you for God’s service.

Evangeline (Angie) Matthews was born to Aaron & Julia McCargo on May 1st. The oldest of six children, Angie was educated by the Camden City Public School System. Angie went on to complete her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work at Rutgers University.

Angie gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of 13 while attending the New Mickle Baptist Church. As a member of New Mickle, Angie served as the secretary of the Sunday school, an usher and a member of the choir. During her adolescence Angie strayed away from God and pursued a life of sin.

In 1998, the Lord, by His mercy, drew Angie to the Living Hope Christian Center where Angie rededicated her life to the Lord. Under the tutelage of Pastors Ronald and Angela King, Angie grew in her knowledge and love of God. It was during this process that Angie learned to hear God’s voice and in 2000 Angie responded to the call of God on her life. Soon after, Angie was ordained as a deacon at the Living Hope Christian Center and has served faithfully in various capacities of the ministry.

In April 2009 Angie was ordained as an Associative Pastor of the Living Hope Christian Center and serves in ministry alongside her best friend, high school sweetheart, and husband Pastor Stephen. In 2012 The Matthews founded the Grace for Life Ministry. Pastor Angie and Pastor Steve are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters, Victoria, Ashlee and Alexis.

If Angie had to pick one scripture to describe her life it would be This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen”. 1 Tim 1:15-17 (NLT)
